Heriz Rug
is a another type of
Persian rug
its origin is from the area of Heris in northwest Iran. Heriz Rug's are made in the villages of the slopes of Mount Sabalan. One thing about the Heriz rug is that it is extremely durable and the Heriz rug is the Iron Rug of Iran. Heriz rug's are thick, tough, and inexpensive rugs. One reason the Heriz rug is so tough is that Mount Sabalan is located on a deposit of Copper. You can find traces of copper in the drinking water of the sheep which in turn produces high quality wool. The copper makes the wool stronger and far more resilient than wool from other areas.
